VALENTINE DAY
February 14, 2003 ‘Valentine’s Day’…an unforgettable day in my life. It began like an ordinary day and ended in a most astounding manner.

On Valentine’s Day, I took off from my office as I had plans to chat with Navdeep on the Internet. Navdeep had told me that he was going to Boston for some official work and will be back by 12 ‘o’ clock, after which we were supposed to chat. On the eve of Valentine’s Day, I sent him a romantic message on his cell wishing him Happy Valentine’s Day. I did not get any reply from him. I thought he might be busy in his work and was oblivious of my message. (Later I came to know that my message was received by Navdeep’s elder brother as his cell was with him…lol!)

At 5 ‘o’ clock in the morning Navdeep called me to wish me back saying that he was busy at work so couldn’t reply at that time?. On phone he told me that there’s a special valentine gift for me…I kept on asking him, but he never told me.

Later at 12 noon, as I was waiting for Navdeep
online, Navdeep’s cousin and his friend came to
my home saying that they have brought my surprise
gift. Much to our surprise, they forcefully locked
me and my other family members (my mom and
my sis) inside a room saying that they had some
preparations to do before handing over my gift.

When I was inside the room, things kept on going into my mind about what was happening outside. For once it came to my mind that Navdeep might have come but it was so improbable that I dropped the idea promptly.

At that moment I was a little disappointed…because my slight expectation of Navdeep’s coming ended as I didn’t see him anywhere in that room. His cousin told me to open the boxes one by one.

And so I opened the first box…there were some heart
shaped gas balloons and few cute soft toys in it for me
and my sisters.

I couldn’t believe my eyes ...I screamed with shock and
surprise…never expecting Navdeep in such a way.
My God! that was really unbelieveable.

Even in my wildest dreams I had not imagined that
I could meet my valentine on Valentine’s Day!

After 15-20 minutes, Navdeep’s cousin opened the door and told us to move towards the drawing room. He had a video camera in his hand and was taking my movie. My heart was pounding loudly as the excitement was slowly catching on. When I entered the drawing room, the room looked very pretty as it was decorated with balloons and there were two big boxes bang in the middle of the room.
Then I came to the second box…My heart started beating faster, and holding my breath I opened it…first came out some balloons and then was my sweetheart!
It was only when I hugged him, then I believed that Navdeep was with me on the Valentine’s day …the best gift I could have asked for.
